Proto magazine was launched in 2005 for Massachusetts General Hospital, with the goal of creating a thought leader magazine about the frontiers of medicine, with an audience of leading physicians and health care professionals.
Within a few years of Proto’s launch, Massachusetts General Hospital was ranked the top hospital in the United States, an award it has sustained through 2015. We’ve migrated Proto to digital platforms, with robust multimedia and a paid social outreach campaign. We have pivoted the magazine to help with the new key goal of fundraising for research.
